Office of Space Commerce Awards ExoAnalytic Data Contract to Support Safety of Flight Services for NOAA

September 30, 2022

FOOTHILL RANCH, CA – The U.S. Department of Commerce made major strides towards establishing an Open Architecture Data Repository with an award to ExoAnalytic Solutions for commercial Space Domain Awareness (SDA) data. This will enable the Office of Space Commerce to conduct pilots, prototypes, and experiments to fulfill Space Policy Directive-3 (SPD3). ExoAnalytic will support the Office of Space Commerce by providing world-class electro-optical observations, related data products, and software capabilities. “Exo is excited to show how our commercial data services are higher quality, more timely, and less expensive than traditional alternatives,” noted COO Holly Bertrand.

Space Domain Awareness is the ability to monitor, understand, and predict natural & man-made object behaviors in orbit about the Earth, and has become a capability of critical importance. “Exo provides Precision Ephemeris and Safety of Flight Services for the NOAA GEO fleet (GOES) and is excited to support this important effort within the Department of Commerce,” observed Bill Therien, VP of Engineering. “We look forward to working with the Department of Commerce to provide ephemeris and safety of flight services as they roll out their Space Traffic Management services,” said Dr. Doug Hendrix, CEO.

ExoAnalytic Solutions was founded in 2008 to build a company driven by creative technical innovation, creating best-in-class technology for ballistic missile target tracking and discrimination. In 2013, Exo deployed the first commercial telescope network capable of delivering real-time astrometric and photometric measurement data for high-altitude, earth-orbiting satellites and debris. Today, the ExoAnalytic Global Telescope Network (EGTN), the largest optical telescope network in the world, provides unmatched availability, persistence, quality, and timeliness of space domain awareness data.
